Blog & Resources

Welcome to my blog, where I will update you on all things writing, podcasting, and share some great (mostly free) resources!

Stick around… and find out!

Resources to Review

I encourage reviewing the below resources. As with all advice, take this for what it is worth (Free).

Please remember – the best resource you have is in your hand (your phone). Don’t hesitate to follow authors on social media because most are either where you are or have been there. I’ve never found a more inclusive and supportive community than my social media Author community.
Remember to use resources like YouTube and to search for things more than one time. There are a million ways to do something and you need to find the way that’s best for you!
Feel free to leave a comment at the bottom for any additional resources you would like!

Resource Name & LinkDetails
Scrivener Plotting ResourcesThis is a “book” template from Scrivener where I’ve added three plotting templates (Foundational, Start with the End, & Classic Plotting).
I created these using plotting structures I’ve studied in school and recommend them for every story you begin.
These are free – so please share and use them to your heart’s content!
17 min: How to Preschedule w/ Meta Business Suite for Facebook & InstagramI put together a tutorial for the Journey: Women’s Fiction Cyber Monday Sale & am sharing how to preschedule video/picture/ reels on Meta Business Suite – which is legitimately a MUST for authors!
Podcasts
No One Asked | An Author’s Opinion on All Things Writing Selfishly, I’m listing my micro podcast (most episodes are under 5 minutes long) for those looking to be a new author.
Helping Writers Become Authors | K.M. WeilandThis is my favorite podcast for writers. K.M. doesn’t gate keep and she shares amazing resources!
This Shit No One Tells You About WritingConversations about improving your work as a writer. They even review query letters (in case you don’t want to go the independent route).
Helpful Creators
Gina Denny (@Ginad129)This links to Gina’s TikTok, specifically; however, she has a link in her bio that I recommend every author visits.
Editing SupportPlease always ask around, ask for a sample chapter, and make sure they fit YOUR needs. PS make sure you’re not spending a ridiculous amount of money.
EFA DirectorySearch for editors with certifications. See above!
Websites
Writers BeWareI WISH – I’d had this three years ago!
This site is exactly what it says – Writers Beware- as in… don’t fall for these awful things and be more aware of what is legitimate. Bookmark this.
Draft2DigitalIndie authors, you need to get your books in libraries and Draft2Digital will help! Create an account and follow the steps.
Ingram SparksI know – the printing cost is higher than Amazon; however, your local bookstore wants your book and this is how you’ll get it there!
MiblartYes, they’re a bit pricey; however, they produce good quality work for book covers. Don’t worry, I’ll list their sister site too.
GetCoversA lower-cost site for book covers. You do have to use their resources and my best advice is to be very descriptive with what you want and specify no AI (unless you are cool with it).
